Pacific Sailfish - look at that BLUE water!

Went fishing with my brother yesterday for his birthday. It was his first time out in the Pacific. He caught and released his first Sailfish!

All together we caught 3 and failed to set the hook on a fourth. All were successfully released, of course!

Because of the full moon we considered ourselves very lucky to have landed the 3 Sailfish. The radio chatter was full of tales of woe from the other fishing boats, including one boat that landed a Dorado only to have it jump back overboard after bringing it into the boat!

At least we can still hug our trees in good conscience. ;~)
