Well folks first let me tell you all what a great informative message board you run!!About 12-14 years ago in when I took my first Ixtapa/Zihua trip and was hooked from the get go.If I really cared to see Hooters,Mcdonalds and the rest of that garbage I could easily stay here in Chicago area or return to Cancun again,,no thanks.Used to stay in Dorado Pacifico most of the time and loved going into Zihua at night(CASA ELVIRA & LA PERLA) some of my favorites.Please tell me this place is still pure Mexico and hasnt been "americanized" by the usual fast food places and what have you.Used to come down at least twice a year for around 6-7 years until October of 1996.That is when I met this adorable young lady by the name of Lilia at the Dorado one afternoon.I was vacationing with a friend from work and she with her sister from the town of SanAngel near Mexico City.Instant connection but just my luck she was leaving the next day.Had an unforgettable dinner that evening at LaCasa Que Canta,exchanged #'s later and spent the next couple years with us both taking turns to visit one another.Here we are now a little more than 9 years later,married and with 2 beautiful kids ages 3 and 5 and ready to take them on there first trip to Ixtapa for our 6th anniversary feb25th-mar4th.Have not been there since about 1999 and can't beleive how good it will feel to touch down there again.
