- Only the freshest seafood is served daily at this beachfront restaurant
located on Playa Larga. If you're driving, when you reach the waterfront

Amuleto -
Luxurious and romantic gourmet dining in an open-air garden under the
stars at this boutique hotel with a spectacular view overlooking Zihuatanejo
Bay from
the hillside between
La Ropa and Las Gatas beaches. Reservations recommended.
Bananas
- Unbeatable prices for breakfast! Delicious and carefully prepared meals.
Fresh juices and fruits. Also a great place for lunch. Right in front
of El Mango on Calle Nicolás Bravo in Zihuatanejo around
the corner from the bank BANCOMER.
Bandido's
- Mingle with the locals and enjoy refreshingly cold drinks and delicious
Mexican lunches, dinners & appetizers in downtown Zihuatanejo
on the corner of Calle Cinco de Mayo and Calle Pedro Ascencio across from
both the church and the artisans handicrafts market. They feature live
music and satellite TV sports.
Bay Club
- Come enjoy fine food and great music under the stars. Located above
Playa Madera on the scenic road to La Ropa Beach, the Bay Club
is on the hill above the Hotel Irma and the Kau-Kan next to the Kon-Tiki.

- A wonderful marriage of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine! Excellent
seafoods and pastas in a romantic setting on the waterfront at Marina
Ixtapa.
Café Marina
- Delicious pizza, pastas, sandwiches and other assorted special dishes.
Be sure to check the Daily Specials! This is also the place to trade in
or buy used books for your reading pleasure from their ample selection.
Located in downtown Zihuatanejo on the waterfront next to the town
plaza and basketball court at the Casa Marina.
Casa
Bahía - What a wonderful discovery
this restaurant is! Located in the part of town called "El Almacén"
on the bayfront cliffside near Puerto Mío above the marina gas
station, their menu offers a fine variety of tropical gourmet cuisine.
A wonderful mix of Mexican and Hawaiian dishes including excellent sashimi!
Also home of the Zihuatanejo Yacht Club. Tel. 554-8666.
Casa
Morelos - Delicious 100% fine Mexican cuisine.
Specializing in seafood dishes of Guerrero. Located in the La Puerta Shopping
Plaza in Ixtapa.
Chez Arnoldo
- Located near the beginning of Playa Las Gatas this family-run
restaurant is not only a great place to eat breakfast and lunch but
also to pass the day sunning and swimming. Their chef, Noyo, learned
a few tricks while working as a chef in Switzerland! Delicious fresh
fish and other local seafood are their specialties. But careful with

Chili
Beans - A delightful restaurant on Ixtapa
Boulevard featuring homemade chili and assorted Mexican dishes as
well as standard fare of burgers for those who must. Open for breakfast,
lunch and dinner daily.
Domino's Pizza
- It had to happen sooner or later. They deliver. In Ixtapa on the Boulevard
above Café Onyx. Tel. 553-1333.
El
Arbolito -
Pedro and his staff serve delicious fresh seafood dishes including
tiritas, ceviche and campechana. Find them on Calle Juan N. Alvarez
across the street from the main plaza (Zócalo) in
Zihuatanejo behind the fruit water stand "La Michoacana".
El
Galeon - Fine cuisine from the sea with a Mediterranean
touch. Dine on a replica galleon on the waterfront at luxurious Marina

El Mango
- Great tacos, pozole, and other traditional Mexican dishes. Satellite
TV! Located in Zihuatanejo at Calle Nicolás Bravo #9. Tel.

El Mediterráneo
- A bayfront restaurant on the Andador del Pescador (fisherman's walkway)
in Zihuatanejo near the Naval Station and the pier. An excellent
mix of regional dishes from the region of the Mediterranean Sea and Mexico

El
Pueblito - Dine in a large courtyard in a colonial
Mexican atmosphere at this restaurant offering traditional dishes of the
State of Guerrero, including pozole on Thursdays and barbacoa
on Sundays. Located on Avenida Morelos one block from the Plaza de la
Libre Expresión in Zihuatanejo.
Esthela's Express Oriental
- Long-time Zihuatanejo resident (and friend) Esthela Buenaventura offers
her marvelous Chinese dishes with a Philippino touch at her take-out restaurant
located on Avenida Cuauhtémoc #26 in downtown Zihuatanejo,
3 short blocks from the waterfront. Seating is limited. Place your order

Fonda Suzy
- Economical and well-prepared breakfasts and lunches. A local favorite.
Find their small restuarant in Zihuatanejo on Calle Nicolás
Bravo about mid-block between Calles Vicente Guerrero and Benito Juarez.
Fragolino -
Italian-style gelato (ice cream) in over 40 flavors made with all natural
ingredients. Located in La Puerta Shopping Center in Ixtapa and
across from the Plaza Municipal in Zihuatanejo.

- In downtown Zihuatanejo at the Hotel Raúl 3Marias

Glob's Cafe
- For breakfast, lunch and dinner eat in air-conditioned comfort. Two
locations: one across from the downtown Central Market on Avenida Benito
Juárez, the other on the Carretera Nacional from Zihuatanejo

At Manzanillo Bay - Fine cuisine by the
waterfront in the restaurant of this unique Bed and Breakfast located
on the beach at Playa Manzanillo near Troncones. The Chef/Owner
is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy and has been featured
in AAA Magazine's dining guides, Outside Magazine and the Culinary Academy's
Alumni Cookbook Series.
Kau-Kan
- Exquisite gourmet dining overlooking Madera Beach and Zihuatanejo's

La Condesa
- Enjoy fresh seafood and cold refreshments under a palm frond-covered
ramada on the beach next to the lagoon at Barra de Potosí.
Relax in their hammocks and enjoy your meal with your feet in the sand.
Located just past the village, first restaurant on the far right (the
first in the series of beachfront restaurants).
La
Gula - This intimate, affordable, unpretentious
gourmet restaurant is a surprising discovery though practically hidden
in this quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance from downtown
Zihuatanejo. Located at Calle Adelita #8, Colonia La Madera. Tel. 554-8396.
La Mordida
- Absolutely mouth-watering delicious pizzas, tacos, and mesquite-grilled
hamburgers! Free home delivery or dine at one of their open-air restaurants
located on Paseo de La Boquita #20, at El Hujal on the Carretera

La Sirena Gorda
- Enjoy Luis's famous seafood tacos and other delights in this cafe-style
restaurant on the waterfront walkway called "El Andador del Pescador"
across from the Navy offices next to the pier in downtown Zihuatanejo.
A long-time favorite with locals and yachters, you'll hear some good fish

Los Abanicos
- Great inexpensive Mexican home-style cooking. What we call "comida
corrida". One of the best deals around! Their food is carefully prepared
with TLC. Find their small cafe-style restaurant on Calle Pedro Ascencio
between Calles Cuauhtémoc and Agustín Ramirez near the Caseta
de Larga Distancia in downtown Zihuatanejo's first block.
Mamma
Norma & Deborah - A wonderful restaurant
in La Puerta shopping center in Ixtapa. Featuring a variety of
fresh seafood, homemade Mexican dishes, pastas, well-prepared meats, and
delicious desserts among their specialties. Open daily for breakfast,
lunch and dinner.
Margaritas
- Delicious 100% Mexican recipes prepared with a home-style gourmet touch.
Located in the first block of downtown Zihuatanejo at Calle Vicente
Guerrero #8 across from the Hotel Citlali, who also operates the
restaurant. Open year
round Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch, and Saturday for breakfast. Offering a daily "comida corrida"

Mi Cabaña/Pizzas Locas
- One of our best kept secrets (so that we locals have a place to eat
when the tourists fill up the other restaurants) located in Zihuatanejo
on Calle Vicente Guerrero #7 in the first block from the waterfront across
from the bakery Panadería Buen Gusto. This garden restaurant has
great portions for very reasonable prices. Great BBQ ribs here as well
as fine seafood (I recommend the fish broiled in aluminum!!!). Also well
known for their pizzas and they deliver! Tel. 554-3569.

Chayito - Delicious Chinese and
Mexican dishes. Located on Vicente Guerrero street in downtown Zihuatanejo in
